🇨🇦 HOW “TOP-TIER” IS HIGH SCHOOL IN TORONTO?
For parents considering Canada for their child during high school, the biggest concern is often not whether Canada is a good choice—but whether their child is ready to go so young.
Will they be safe? Who will support them? And is it really worth going before university?
Toronto is worth a closer look.
Going early doesn’t mean going alone.
With support systems for international students—and, depending on the accommodation arrangement, a custodian or host family—students have people they can turn to when challenges arise.
More importantly, high school in Canada gives students time to gradually adapt to English, academic expectations, culture, and independent living before university.
But timing matters.
Starting in Grade 9, 10, or 11 can lead to very different pathways. How will Vietnamese transcripts be assessed? What credits or courses will be required? Which school fits the student’s academic goals? Could the wrong timing affect graduation progress?
These are questions that generic online information cannot answer for every student.
That’s why this event matters.
Mr. Fred Liu – Senior Manager, International Recruitment, Toronto District School Board (TDSB) will be in Ho Chi Minh City for a direct conversation with parents and students.
Bring your child’s actual academic profile and ask:
1.How will their current transcript be assessed?
2. When is the right time to transition to Toronto?
3. Which schools and courses align with future university goals?
4. What should the family prepare before making a decision?
