English Language Institute

North Central College offers the English Language Institute (ELI), a full-time intensive English program tailored specifically for international students preparing for admission to U.S. colleges or universities. Classes are conducted in small groups by professional ESL instructors, ensuring personalized and focused learning. Impressively, 95% of students who complete the ELI successfully transition into undergraduate courses.

Students in the ELI engage in four core classes:

  • Writing and Grammar
  • Listening and Speaking
  • Reading & Vocabulary
  • Elective Class, which options include American Culture, Test Preparation, or College Preparation, allowing for a well-rounded development of English language skills.

Requirements for Admission for ELI:
