San Jose City College (SJCC), established in 1921, is the oldest community college in Santa Clara County, California. It has a longstanding tradition of guaranteeing transfers to California State University, University of California campuses, and other private universities and colleges. SJCC offers a wide range of degrees and certificates tailored to students' interests, with more than 800 courses and over 50 majors, including popular fields such as Business, Education, Technology, Health Science, and Media Arts. The college is proud of its excellent faculty, classified professionals, and its approximately 10,000 students per semester.

International Students

For over 100 years, San Jose City College has been providing top-quality education through state-of-the-art facilities, a comprehensive curriculum, and excellent support services. New International F-1 Student Requirements

English Language School Option

San Jose City College (SJCC) offers an English Language School option to help international students meet their English language proficiency requirements. Through a partnership with a Partner English Language Program, students can take English courses and, upon completing a specific English level, transfer to SJCC without needing to take a standardized exam.

Tuition and Fees

International students at SJCC must pay an $8,162 tuition fee, along with other associated fees and health insurance costs. To maintain F-1 visa status, students are required to enroll in at least 12 units per semester.

Scholarships

SJCC provides various scholarship opportunities for international students, sponsored by community organizations, businesses, campus organizations, and district/college faculty and staff. Notable scholarships include:

  • Associated Students International Student Scholarship: $500
  • International Student Scholarship: $500
  • Vietnamese Student Scholarships: These scholarships offer financial assistance exclusively to Vietnamese students, awarding $500. However, F-1 Visa students are not eligible for this scholarship.
  • Vietnamese Student Association (VSA) Member Scholarship: This scholarship also awards $500 to Vietnamese international students.

These scholarships aim to support students financially and help them achieve their educational goals at SJCC.
