  • You have your choice of 140 programs at numerous educational levels ranging from University Preparation to Master’s Degrees.
  • TRU is a leading provider of online and distance education in British Columbia. With the Open Learning system, you can choose from over 550 courses or 60 programs to learn at your own pace wherever in the world you may be.
  • Data collected from the government of British Columbia found the following employment statistics for TRU graduates (between 20172019) within one year of completing their respective program(s):
  • Foundational Trades: 82% of respondents were employed, of which 76% had a job related to their studies.
  • Diploma: 82% of respondents were employed, of which 74% had a job related to their studies.
  • Certificate: 87% of respondents were employed, of which 82% had a job related to their studies.
  • Bachelor’s Degree: 84% of respondents were employed, of which 74% had a job related to their studies.
  • Associate Degree: 60% of respondents were employed, of which 31% had a job related to their studies.

3. Work and Study Opportunities

  • TRU is engaged in 60 student exchange agreements with partner institutions in 40 countries across the world. Note that TRU Study Abroad opportunities are currently online amidst COVID19.
  • Field School is a TRU program offered in another country. Courses can be completed with or without credits, mostly from April-June of a given year. Options tend to be low-cost and great for those wanting to travel. Note that all upcoming Field Schools are pending deadlines and occurrence dates due to COVID-19.
  • TRU’s WorkStudy Program offers training and experience complementary to a student’s studies and can help alleviate financial burdens.
  • Co-operative education offers students the possibility to alternate their study terms with paid work-terms in settings that give them practical experience that is complimentary to their studies. Some co-operative education experiences can also lead to employment following graduation. Tuition still needs to be paid during a co-operative education term, but credits will be received upon completion of the work term.
