This article briefly introduces the well-rounded student support offered by Western Sydney Technology College.

Western Sydney Technology College (WSTC) is dedicated to providing high-quality education that meets students’ vocational goals. Located in the economic capital of Greater Western Sydney, Parramatta, WSTC enjoys the convenience brought by the commercial center. WSTC is right next to the Westfield shopping center and has easy access to various facilities nearby. WSTC offers multiple programs to international students, such as the Diploma of Information Technology Networking and the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, with relevant job-required qualifications that will give students the edge in landing a job.

To help students achieve success on their academic goals, career, and international student life, WSTC offers the following support:

• Study skills workshop

WSTC offers a study skills workshop for all students every term. This workshop not only includes basic research skills, but also teaches students how to respond and present the assessment, how to reference properly, and how to avoid plagiarism. For distance learning students, WSTC also offers a recorded version of this workshop. Additionally, after a special trainer’s assessment, WSTC also provides an introductory computer skill workshop for using word processing software to students.

• Learning Resource Loan Program

WSTC’s Learning Resource Loan Program offers students an opportunity to loan textbooks, DVDs, or laptops during their study at WSTC on a first-come-first-serve basis. Students can apply for this program and avail themselves of all these sources after their applications get approved.

• Career support

WSTC’s Student Support department is dedicated to providing assistance to students in terms of career planning and job application. The Student Support department will provide a career support session to help students revise their resumes and present themselves better during interviews. Additionally, WSTC also helps students explore their careers by connecting them with recruitment companies and get students ready by offering career fairs.

• Student Care

WSTC truly caters to students in terms of understanding and providing what they need. Considering that students might feel stressed or lonely in the study, WSTC always has a mid-term offer to students. Students will have the chance to meet each other and celebrate Harmony Day during March of every year, Halloween, Christmas, or the end of the term celebrations. In addition, students have access to WSTC’s common room where they can enjoy free light refreshments, coffee, tea, and biscuits.
